Privacy Policy — Timmy

Last updated: 23 August 2026

Timmy is a group expense app operated by Diwakar IT Services (“we”, “our”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using Timmy, you agree to this policy.

Your account

You can create an account with email and a password, or sign in with Google or Apple. We keep the details needed to run your account:

  • Email address
  • Display name and username
  • Profile photo, if you add one
  • Optional phone number, if you save one so friends can find you

If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the name, email, and profile photo those services share with us. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.

Groups, expenses, and friends

Timmy stores the content you create so groups can split costs and settle up:

  • Groups, members, and group photos
  • Expenses, amounts, notes, dates, payers, and shares
  • Receipt images or files you attach
  • Balances and settlements
  • Friend connections and invites

People in a group can see that group’s expenses, balances, receipts, and photos. Friend lookups never show your phone number to other people.

Contacts

Finding friends from your address book is optional. If you allow access, Timmy reads contacts on your device to show who already has an account.

We do not save your address book. Names stay on your device. We only check phone numbers needed to find matches, and those numbers are not stored as your contact list.

Photos and camera

You can allow photo or camera access to set a profile picture, add a group photo, or attach a receipt. We only use the images you choose. We do not browse your library in the background.

On this device

Some expenses can stay on this device when you are offline, then sync when you are back online and signed in. Sign-in details needed to keep you logged in are stored on the device.

Notifications

If you turn on notifications, we store a device token so we can send updates about activity such as expenses, settlements, or friend requests. You can turn notifications off in system settings.

Credits and purchases

Some actions in Timmy use credits — for example, creating a group or adding members. You can buy credit packs through the App Store or Google Play, or earn a small amount by watching an ad.

Apple and Google handle payment. We receive confirmation of the purchase so we can add credits. We do not see or store your card number.

Advertising

Timmy can show a rewarded ad from Google AdMob when you choose to watch one for credits. The ads service may use a device identifier, IP address, and similar technical data to serve and measure ads. Your expenses, receipts, contacts, and passwords are not used to personalize those ads.

On iOS, you may be asked whether Timmy can track activity across other apps and websites. That is optional and used only for advertising measurement. You can change the choice in system settings.

For more about how Google uses data in advertising products, see Google’s policies for AdMob and related services.

Crash reports and reliability

We collect crash reports and basic diagnostics so we can fix bugs and keep the app stable. These reports may include device type, app version, and technical logs. We do not use this for advertising.

How we use information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and manage your account
  • Run group expenses, balances, and settlements
  • Help you find and connect with friends
  • Process credits and purchases
  • Send the notifications you enable
  • Keep the app secure and reliable

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your expense data for marketing.

Sharing

We share information only as needed to operate Timmy:

  • With people you add to a group or accept as a friend
  • With Apple or Google for sign-in and purchases
  • With Google AdMob when you watch an ad
  • With the services that host the app, send email, and receive crash reports

Those providers handle data under their own policies. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Storage and security

Account and group data are stored on our servers. We use standard security practices, including encryption in transit. No online service is completely secure.

Your choices

You can edit your profile, phone number, and photos in the app. You can delete your account in Settings after settling any open balances. We email a confirmation code, then schedule deletion for 30 days. Signing back in during that window cancels deletion.

You can also email us to ask questions or request deletion:

Children

Timmy is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Where we operate

Timmy is operated primarily from India. If you use the app from another country, your information may be processed in India or in other regions where our hosting and service providers operate.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The updated text will appear on this page. Continued use of Timmy after a change means you accept the updated policy.
